It is getting greener and greener by the second!
Had to buy a new umbrella. Three days ago, it was very windy. Could have known that wind and umbrellas DO NOT mix! Found the wretched thing at my neighbors', totally destroyed. Fortunately got another one the same day, exactly the same color. Yay! (Matches blueberries!)

Hans, however, decided to go for a high protein meal... I love my cat dearly but does not he have any food at home? And I do not buy him just random crappy food either, so it is not like he HAS to EAT some poor bird out of hunger... But then again, born in wild, the wild you stay...
Okay, so the warm weather is really here. It gets greener and greener by a minute! Unfortunately, it also means that weeds start taking over and I should do something about it... Yeah...
Each spring I face the same dilemma. I hate chemicals and spraying but on the other hand there is no way I could keep up with the weeds the traditional way. Later in the season it gets better though. My Zoysia grass is too dense for weeds to grow. Now however, it looks awful... Blah.
So much work to do and so little time!

The "Jungle". Even now, we had to stop going to the woods because of infestation of ticks. The snakes are back too! In a two or three weeks this area is going to look like a solid wall of green.
My lemon tree has 3 lemons! I keep it inside though because the wind and heavy rain would destroy blossom and fruit.
And three days ago I had this cute visitor napping behind my house!

Yesterday, I made two huge loafs of bread. They took up all the space in my oven! I used four kinds of flour including rye flour, so it has crunchy crust and tastes like an old-fashioned European bread. Since I do not eat much bread however, just a slice here and there, I cut each loaf in four and freeze. One such piece lasts for 3-4 days. That way I do not waste anything. Home-made bread is also much healthier since I do not use any chemicals for freshness, sugar, or too much salt. Well, actually I use 1/2 teaspoon of sugar for yeasts (I ferment rye flour with yeasts and sugar for 3 days before adding more flour and baking) but it is spread between two big loafs, and it is about 1/4 of sugar what you can find in regular soft "bread" at the store...
So my fridge is full and I do not have to worry about "going hungry" for the next few weeks!
And there is nothing like the smell of freshly baked bread in the air! Seriously.
